Caster Semenya Is Back

Caster Semenya’s lawyers told the eNews television channel in South Africa on Wednesday that the results of sex-verification tests obtained in February show she can compete as a woman. Her lawyers said her medical team looked at the test results after the 2009 world championships, where she won the 800-meter title, and their own tests and concluded she was clear to compete.

Semenya has said she will not compete until June, when the International Association of Athletics Federations, track and field’s governing body, is expected to release its findings. The federation has said it will not comment until the case is concluded
