Bolt wins 100 at Golden Spike in 10.04

OSTRAVA, Czech Republic -- Usain Bolt won the 100 meters at the Golden Spike meet on Friday, his first triumph in Europe ahead of the London Olympics.

The Jamaican sprinter, who won three golds the 2008 Beijing Games, had a slow start. But he pulled ahead of the rivals in the final stretch to clock 10.04 seconds.

Kim Collins of St. Kitts and Nevis finished second in 10.19, while American sprinter Darvis Patton was third in 10.22.It was the sixth competition in the eastern Czech city of Ostrava for Bolt. He failed to improve his season best of 9.82 from the May meet in Jamaica.
