Bolt to run in Rome Thursday

Jamaica's Usain Bolt is listed on the provisional entry list to run the men’s 100 metres at the Diamond League meeting in Rome on Thursday. It will be Bolt’s second 100-metre race this season. Last month, the world’s fastest man won his first 100-metre race of the season in a photo finish, beating fellow Jamaican Kemar Bailey-Cole at the Cayman Invitational. Bolt, who had a hamstring problem going into the meet, clocked a modest time of 10.09 seconds. The American pair of Justin Gatlin and Michael Rodgers are listed to face off with Bolt. Gatlin is enjoying rich form at the moment. He won the 100 metre-dash at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene in a wind-aided time of 9.88 seconds on Saturday. Jacques Harvey, another Jamaican is also listed to compete in the event. A third Jamaican, Kerron Stewart, is on the provisional entry list. Stewart is down to contest the women’s 200 metres where she will face off with American Allyson Felix.
