IAAF won’t recognize Championship marks at the Cayman Islands National Track and Field meet 2013

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) won’t recognize many of the performances at the recent Cayman Islands National Track and Field meet. Timing and measurement systems used at the meet did not meet several international standards. So athletes wouldn’t have been able to qualify for the World Championships or other major international meets even if the times they posted were good enough. In one case, Alex Pascal threw what would’ve been a new Cayman Islands record in the javelin with a distance of 71.18 metres. That throw, however, won’t be considered a new record.
